2047 APOLOGUE II – audiovisual stage performance
WHITEvoid creates a mesmerizing kinetic installation with KINETIC LIGHTS winch system for the 2nd season of 2047 APOLOGUE stage performance directed by ZHANG Yimou and produced by L!VE Kingway.
2047 APOLOGUE explores the relationship between human beings and technology. Based on Peking Opera Sanchakou, it is breaking the form of traditional stage plays, combining Chinese folk arts with the international high-end technology, and thus creating a unique concept performance.
The array of kinetic mirrors reflecting light beams transformed the stage into a forest of light that interacts with a dancer. The performance reflects Zhang Yimou’s directing style, combining discretely different elements into an aesthetically thrilling production.
2047 APOLOGUE premiered at the National Centre for the Performing Arts (NCPA) in Beijing and was on tour across China with performances in Tianjin, Xi’an and Nanjing.
